The Porsche Boxster takes 118 lb-ft (160 N·m) on its wheel bolts; the 2013–2016 manuals all say the same. The manuals are Porsche’s international editions. Tighten them in a star pattern with a torque wrench.

A unit marked converted isn’t printed in that manual, or is printed wrongly: it’s worked out from one the manual prints. These are the international editions of Porsche’s owner’s manuals; a car sold in another country comes with that country’s edition, so check yours. Read on Porsche’s own site on October 24, 2026. How to tighten them
- Clean any dirt or rust off the bolts and the wheel’s mounting face. Don’t oil them unless the manual says to.
- Thread every bolt in by hand until it seats against the wheel.
- Lower the vehicle so the tire takes its weight, and set a torque wrench to 118 lb-ft (160 N·m).
- Tighten the bolts in a star pattern, going around two or three times, until the wrench clicks on every bolt.
- Check the torque again after a short drive if your manual says to.
What the Porsche manual adds
- Immediately after changing a wheel, use a torque wrench to check the prescribed tightening torque of the wheel bolts (160 Nm/118 ftlb).

Questions
What is the lug nut torque on a Porsche Boxster?
118 lb-ft (160 N·m), from Porsche’s owner’s manuals (2013–2016).
Can I use an impact wrench?
Not to finish. An impact wrench can’t set a torque and easily overshoots it, which stretches studs. Run the nuts down by hand or lightly, then finish with a torque wrench in a star pattern.
Should I oil the wheel bolts?
Not unless the manual says so. Torque values assume clean, dry threads; oil lets the same torque stretch the bolt further. Some manuals, Kia’s and Mazda’s among them, say to keep oil and grease off wheel nuts and bolts altogether.
